Student Learning Outcomes

1. Students holding this certificate will be prepared for careers as ethical entrepreneurs who are committed to upholding ethical values and principles including honesty, loyalty, selflessness, patriotism, generosity, fairness, respect, open-mindedness, perceptual balance, humility, honor and civility.
2. Certificate completion will provide students with personal and professional management skills and attributes including frugality, resourcefulness, personal organization, thrift, thoughtfulness, prudence, industriousness, independence, teach-ability, punctuality, physical and mental health, energy, goal orientation, boldness, persistence, adaptability, resilience, self-discipline and problem-solving.
3. Certificate holders will become effective group members, leaders and organization members with skills and competencies including passion, competitiveness, intelligence, insight, innovation, entrepreneurship, enthusiasm, optimism, motivation, leadership, engagement, collaboration, intentionality, commitment, proactivity, cheerfulness, approachability and vision.
4. Students completing this certificate will be well educated, culturally literate, skilled, knowledgeable, tech savvy, good oral and written communicators and engaged citizens.

Specific Program Requirements 

In addition to the course requirements above students must also complete and document four advisor approved co-curricular requirements including the following (must be approved in advance by the Jake Jabs Certificate Advisor and documented in the student portfolio):

• Professional Experience, e.g. internship, small business consulting, employment, mentorship;
• Campus Involvement, e.g. athletics, music, student government, clubs;
• Community Involvement, e.g. 200 hours of community service;
• Respectful Perspective, e.g. National/International Exchange or like experience.
